Innovation First Notice is the clear leader in workers’ compensation
claim reporting, handling approximately 10% of all WC losses
in the U.S. We have become the leader because our total solution
addresses the two leverage points in driving down settlement
costs: (1) time; and (2) managed services.
ClaimCapture, the company’s sophisticated intake platform,
was designed to handle the inherent complexity in the workers’
comp world: large corporate account hierarchies; constant
program maintenance; and real-time distributions. The idea
was to build an engine that could offer not only the immediacy
of centralized telephonic reporting but also the customization
down to the risk location.
Mission accomplished. By offering a simple, straightforward
way of reporting claims and automatically applying nth-level
business logic, First Notice’s centralized, customized
WC solution is able to cut days off of lag time. And when
claims are reported early and into a common platform, additional
services can be introduced:
- EDI State filing – Innovation First Notice can automatically transmit claims to either of our partners, Claims Harbor or Red Oak, for EDI filing to those States that require it. This eliminates adjusters staying on top of individual State forms/regulations and filing separately.
- Provider Referrals – We can assist the risk manager/injured worker in finding a qualified medical provider. Companies can import their list of providers or have us direct injured parties to preferred networks. One client study showed that each additional percentage point in PPO penetration is worth $800K in annual savings.
- Case Management – Based on a client’s rules, we can path a WC claim directly to a field or telephonic nurse case manager. In either case, a qualified professional from the carrier’s staff or a 3rd-party NCM unit monitors the treatment and makes sure that the established protocols are being followed and on schedule.
- Bill Review – Integration with 3rd-party bill review services allows First Notice to send details of the loss directly to bill review systems, eliminating time-consuming research and costly re-entry.
Innovation First Notice delivers real WC results for premier clients like ESIS, Fireman’s Fund, and CNA Commercial. The bottom line is that by accurately capturing workers’ comp claims early in the process and seamlessly integrating with additional cost-savings services, we get injured parties back to work faster and reduce claim settlement costs.
